It would be nice if it were possible to group equipment items. For example, the regulator set consists of a 1st stage, a 2nd stage and an octo. This combination doesn't change often, so it would be nice to have a "Regulator set" equipment item consisting of 3 other items.

Taking this one step further, it would be great if the Equipment was a tree instead of a flat list.

We do not (yet) have Equipment Groups. Both our iOS and macOS products have supported something though that we thought was more powerful for users that accomplished the same thing. You can select any dive and "duplicate" it in order to get *all* the information preset for a particular dive. It would include not only all of your equipment, but also all the other particulars like weight, dive suit, tags etc. So if you have a set of warm water gear, you can just duplicate an old warm water dive and you'll be set to go - all that equipment has already been added for you. This feature is particularly useful when on a trip and your dive details don't change much between dives.

We have also heard though that users want more fine grain control of equipment. Instead of setting everything all at once like above, they want to set a particular group of camera gear, or a particular group of snorkeling gear, and build up your "total" gear via several sets. So we can't support this kind of fine grain control right now. We are looking now at adding "Equipment Sets" to our product and they may be available eventually, not sure when though.
