I just received the new Shearwater Perdix 2. I previously synced by Shearwater Teric to the iOS app. When initializing the Perdix 2's Bluetooth, it does not show as available. Is the support for the Perdix 2 something that has to be added in the app?

Anyone else successfully sync a Perdix 2?

Hi,

Yes, we had to make updates to support the new Perdix 2. We currently have a beta version of Dive Log available that will work with the Perdix 2 (and Petrel 3). Please reach out to our support email address (support 'at' moremobilesoftware 'dot' com) and I'll be happy to set you with access to the Beta version of Dive Log. We hope to have this version available soon, but you are certainly welcome to have early access to it while we finish a few minor details (that will not affect your usage unless you use an XCCR rebreather with pressure transmitters).

Cheers,

Greg

I just purchased a Shearwater Perdix 2. Running current firmware. I also have DiveLog version 3.5.8(3.100) installed on my iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 15.6.1. I have previously purchased the Shearwater interface for DiveLog when I had a Petrel. Downloads on that worked fine. With the Perdix 2, it does not show up in my BlueTooth devices (can't pair), won't show up when I use Download function in DiveLog, but shows up when I Connect through the Shearwater Cloud app.

Any tips, so I can avoid have to download via Shearwater Cloud and import into DiveLog? I've been using DiveLog since July 2012, and I'm not interested in switching apps after 1500 logged dives!

Thanks for the help.

UPDATE: I used the desktop version of DiveLog, went to Downloads, Shearwater, and set the type to Low Energy and it paired with my Mac. Went back to my iPhone, attempted to connect, and it showed up! I can download into the iPhone app now.

Not sure how that worked out, but figured I would add this here if others are seeing the same thing.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi,

I'm glad that you were able to get things working. Sorry about the difficulties.

I'm not sure why Dive Log did not originally detect your Perdix 2. I think it is highly unlikely that connecting to DiveLogDT on your Mac first had anything to do with resolving the issue. As a general rule it should "just work" but if it isn't working for someone initially please try the following:

1) Make sure your version of Dive Log is up to date (current version is 3.5.8(3.100) but 3.5.7(3.107) should work as well (this update was specifically for the Perdix 2 and Petrel 3).
2) Try restarting your iPhone (this resets the Bluetooth system if it has gotten out of wack).
3) Make sure your Shearwater computer and iPhone are about arms length apart and the Bluetooth in enabled on your Shearwater.

Hopefully it will be smooth sailing for everyone going forward. Thanks for sharing your experiences as it will help other users that might have difficulties.

Cheers,

Greg
