RMV not displaying

This is a minor item. Overall, I really enjoy the program and continue to recommend it to all of my fellow divers. On the Summary and Environment views, it does not show RMV. I am assuming it because it is showing as a decimal point vs. whole number. Is there setting that I can change to see this. I am able to see it on the mobile app.

Another question, is it possible to add that information to the lower right panel. It would be helpful (for me) to see how the RMV changes over dives, especially as we adjust gear as a PSD.

Hello Craig,

Thank you for telling all your friends about our software! :D :D I'm guessing that you recently upgraded your Mac to macOS 14 Sonoma? Both this release and the first iOS 17 release had bugs in the number formatters such that they broke the display of any number with decimal places.

The good news is that they actually fixed it ( ) and so if you upgrade to macOS 14.1, you should see your decimal places return. For RMV and everything else too.

As for being able to add another column to the lower right panel, no we don't support that. We do get a lot of requests though from people who want to see their RMV or SAC rates plotted over time so we will add your name to the growing list. It is certainly approaching the top of our "To Do" list, but we do need to figure out how to add it in an easy to view way.

Please let us know if you are still seeing problems after upgrading your Mac.

You are awesome! That did the trick for the display.

Related to the columns for SAC/RMV- Is it possible to include it in the export data as a column. I could build my own formulas and apply it, but I would prefer to have an "Easy Button" to then run my own pivots/ graphs.

No issue if you can't.

The RMV and SAC values are always just calculated from the data entered for that dive -> it's not a database field, it's just a calculation based on the entered fields. All of the needed fields are already exported if you use the CSV Export. So if you have the skills, you can just add a column to your spreadsheet that has the formula that does the calculation. Then you can map and graph to your hearts content.

Let us know if you need more info or would like help with the calculation.

Make sense. You have a great program. I did have another question, do you have plans to be able to import for an iWatch? I can start a different thread if you would prefer.

HI Craig,

We do have support for importing the Apple Watch Ultra dive data (iWatch) in our iOS Dive Log. As you know, the Apple Watch needs to be paired with an iPhone to work and save data to the Health App and the Health App currently only allows data to be accessed on your iPhone or iPad (you still need to initially get the data on the iPhone but then it can be synced via iCloud to the iPad). As of now, the Mac does not play in the Health App sandbox.

Dive Log is able to read your Heath depth and temperature data (once you grant permission, Dive Log will prompt you) and construct dives based on that data. There are some parameters you can set (they have defaults) like how long a surface interval should be used to consider a group of samples a new dive and what time zone to interpret the dive time in (for some reason Apple does not include the time zone information in the sample date/time so if you dive in Hawaii and import in LA the times would be converted to LA time unless you set the timezone to Hawaii time for the import.

You will find the Ultra import on the Synchronization tab (under the "..." or "More" tab by default) -> Import -> Import Apple Watch Ultra.

Until recently, the Oceanic+ app for the Ultra did not have any way to export data that it imports from the Ultra. However, they recently started exporting UDDF format data (which both Dive Log on iOS and DiveLogDT and DiveLogManager on macOS can import). We have only tested their UDDF with one exported UDDF file so far, but it does mostly work. There are possibly some issues with manually entered tank data, but the profile data does import okay. So if you use Oceanic+ along with DiveLogDT (but don't want Dive Log) this is another way to go.

The watchOS and Oceanic+ are regularly updated and we still find ourselves chasing the way they are working and are updating our apps as needed. We do have a few enhancement that are in the works right now so hopefully things will continue to get better over time.

I hope that helps,
Greg
