I’m new to using the Dive Log and I was looking for videos that shows how to start your dive log and how to import your dive info from your dive computer and can’t find any. Is there a video out there somewhere?

Hi,
No videos that explicitly address your requests. However, it is pretty straight forward. Dive Log initially opens with a default logbook. This logbook has one sample dive (which you can delete ... just swipe left on the dive on the dives tab). You can then start immediately adding dives to your logbook. You can either tap the "+" on the Dives tab to add a new dive or import them from a dive computer (more on that below).
You might also want to add your First and Last Name to the Personal tab (under the "..." or "More" tab by default). Just tap "Edit" and enter your name. This will personalize your logbook and make the naming of exported data easier to find.
Downloading dives from a dive computer requires a compatible dive computer. Most Bluetooth LE enabled dive computers are supported (a few serial/USB computers are supported too with an appropriate Bluetooth accessory). You will need to make an in-app purchase for your specific computer to enable downloading. Open the Downloads tab (under the "..." or "More" tab by default) and tap the "Store". Then look for the category of computer that you have (mostly this is by manufacturer, but some computers are sold by one "brand" but made by another ... Pelagic for example has a number of manufactures that they make white label computers for ... examples are Aqualung and Oceanic). You can tap the "Supported computer include" button under each in-app purchase to see which models are supported. Once you purchase the appropriate in-app purchase just return to the Downloads tab and enable Bluetooth on your dive computer (or attach it to the Bluetooth accessory and enable download mode) and the device will appear in the Downloads tab in Dive Log. Just tap on it to pair and then when the Download button becomes enabled tap that to initiate the download.
Feel free to send the details of the specific dive computer you have and I'll be happy to provide more specific instructions. Our email support address is a great way to reach out about specific questions like this: support 'at' moremobilesoftware 'dot' com).
Cheers,
Greg

You say:
"Open the Downloads tab (under the "..." or "More" tab by default) and tap the "Store". Then look for the category of computer that you have..."
However when I go to Downloads>Store the only option I have is to restore purchases. Not to select the dive computer I have. I'm on version 3.7.7(3.101) of the app, with version 17.4.1 iOS.

Hi,
Double check that you have internet access and try the Store interface again. The list of available options is populated from Apple and sometime it takes a second to load (this is the moral equivalent of visiting the App Store). If it does not populate it is either because Apple is experiencing a server issue (rate, but not as uncommon as you'd like to think) or you do not have internet access.
Note that you do also have to be "signed in" to the App Store on your device. You can double check by starting up the App Store app and tapping your account icon in the top right to ensure you can see your previous purchases.
Otherwise, you might just need to try again in an hour or so.
Cheers,
Greg

Well it looks like I won’t be using this dive log because I purchased the Garmin Descent G1 and it looks like it’s not supported. But thanks

Hi,
The Garmin G1 should work with Dive Log, but due to design decisions that Garmin has taken, it is not possible to directly download it via Bluetooth into 3rd party apps. This is similar to the Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3 where directly downloading the device via Bluetooth will disrupt the ability to download the watch using Garmin's apps. So like with the Mk series of watches, you would download your G1 using the Garmin Dive app and then once that data has been synced to Garmin web portal you would download the FIT file for that dive (or multiple dives) to a file space accessible to Dive Log (for example iCloud Drive) and then open the Synchronize tab in Dive Log (under "..." or "More" by default) and tap on "Import" and then "Import Garmin Fit Format" and select the FIT file(s) you downloaded to import them.
To be fair, we have not ever received a FIT file that has been generated by a G1, but if you do try it and find any issues, please feel free to send us the FIT file and we can updating the FIT file import.
It is unfortunate that we can't do a Bluetooth download with the Garmin devices. You are pretty much limited to the Garmin Dive app for direct Bluetooth downloads. I understand if you decide to not use Dive Log. You should be able to request a refund from Apple for your purchase if the Import option is not a good solution for you (
