It's the number header seen as 2,485 in this image:

What is it? How do you change it?

When you have more than 200 dives in your logbook you will see a "section index" on the right hand side of the dive list (this is the same "section index" that you see in your Contacts app that shows the Alphabet, but in the case it is showing the dive number ranges). You can use this index to quickly jump to a block of 100 dives. Each of those "blocks" of dives are in a "section". The gray number that you see in the image you included (2,485) is the section header the block of dives on the screen ... in this case as if you had tapped the "24" in the section index on the right hand side (so in Contact if you were in the "M" section you would see an "M" in this location). The number itself is based on the dive numbers in your logbook. If this logbook had all the dives from 1 entered this header would fall on multiples of 100, but since my logbook (which appears to be the image that you used) has a number of dives that have not been entered yet so this section header value does not fall on an even 100 boundary.

As you scroll the list the section header will show up at each multiple of 100 dives and will change as you scroll to the next bock of dives (this is the last section in the image you sent, but if you were to scroll back past dive #2,4385 you would see this section header scroll down with dive #2,485 and the next sections header (2,385) would be displayed at the top.

Note that this is all standard iOS behavior and other than the details of the contents of the section index and the section headers it works the same as other tables on the iPhone (like Contacts). You can't really change the header per se other than by scrolling or adding dives to your logbook.

I hope that helps. Cheers,

Greg

Thanks for this information! I was having user error and five of my dives didn't get loaded into the app, so I was confused because the number seemingly didn't add up to 100. :D
