Hello, Are there any plans to allow for the import of GPS coordinates from the new Swift-GPS AI Transmitter from Shearwater? Thanks.

Hi,
Yes, we certainly hope to be able to incorporate GPS data read from the Swift Transmitter with GPS while downloading Shearwater dive computers. We do not yet have the information required to know where to read the GPS data (Shearwater typically provides this information some time after they officially release a new product), but we will add support for it once we know how to parse the download data. We will then incorporate the GPS data in the same way that we do with other dive computers that currently support GPS data.
Note that there is always the possibility that Shearwater does not make the GPS data available via download, although I think that is unlikely
There is a new logbook version that Shearwater has released with the Swift Transmitter with GPS that does require a small change to Dive Log in order to parse the sample data. This change is currently in Beta and will be made general available soon. If anyone has a new Swift transmitter and needs access to this update sooner than later, please reach out to us directly at about support email address (support 'at' moremobilesoftware 'dot' com).
Cheers,
Greg

We have just released a version of Dive Log (version 3.9.1) that has support for reading GPS coordinates from the Shearwater Swift GPS transmitter.
Dive Log will attempt to read the entry GPS position from the Shearwater and, if that is not valid will attempt to read the exit GPS position. If a valid GPS position is found, Dive Log will create a new dive site with that location or will attempt to match an existing dive site in your logbook and assign that to the newly imported dive. You have control of if the location information is used at all and if it is how close an existing dive site needs to be to be considered a match. It is also possible to force Dive Log to always create a new site and not look for a matching site.
Cheers,
Greg

That's awesome. Thanks Greg. I can't wait to try it this summer.
Cheers!
