Hi Paul,
The Shearwater Petrel 2 direct download support is not yet available in the released version of Dive Log for iOS that you can currently download from the iTunes App Store.
We are currently Beta testing the Petrel 2 download support and hope to submit it to Apple for review in the near future (we have no control over how long the App Review process will take, so we can't commit to hard release dates). Please feel free to contact us via email (support 'at' moremobilesoftware 'dot' com) if you'd like to discuss being part of the Beta program for the Petrel support.
Cheers,
Greg

Hi,
has this update been submitted to the app store, if not, any rough timescale?
Would there be a similar feature available fore OSTC sport?
Many thanks
bubffm

Hi,
The Shearwater Petrel 2 direct download support for Dive Log on iOS has not yet been submitted to the App Store. We expect to do this very soon (we are just taking care of the release engineering aspects of releasing the product). You should feel free to contact us at our support email (support 'at' moremobilesoftware 'dot' com) if you'd like to start using the Pre-Release version of the Petrel 2 support and we'd be happy to make the appropriate arrangements.
The OSTC Sport does not support Bluetooth LE (it does have Bluetooth, but not the "Low Energy" support required to work with the iPhone/iPad) so it is not technically possible to support the OSTC Sport for direct download in Dive Log on iOS. We are currently Beta testing the OSTC support in our MacOS products (Dive Log DT and Dive Log Manager) and hope to release that in the near future as well.
I hope that helps.
Cheers,
Greg

Hi Greg
works nearly perfect! Thank you.
One minor point, The Air temp is not downloaded. With Diving Log and the original Shearwater Desktop you get the Air temp.

Andi

Hi Andi,
Thanks, I'll take a look at this and see if there is something that we are not aware of in the data from the Shearwater Petrel 2 that would allow us to populate Air Temp. Typically, dive computers don't actually track the "air temp" per say but rather report a minimum temperature and a maximum temperature which some software chooses to interpret as the "air temp" and "water temp". The other thing that is commonly done is to consider the temperature in the very first sample as the "air temp" (since the computer has likely not started reflecting the water temperature yet). We have chosen to not import either of these values as the "air temp" though since they are not really the air temperature and may not reflect the actual air temperature (for example if your computer was sitting in a rinse tank or an air conditioned room between dives or the water temperature was higher than the air temperature). We prefer to only fill in "accurate" information and leave it to the user to fill in the other values. So I'll look at see what it is that the Shearwater Desktop is reporting as "Air Temp" and if it make sense, we can add that to our parsing of the data.
Thanks again for the heads up.
Cheers,
Greg
