Hi!
Do you have any plan for a Suunto DM4 import function (XML-fil), or maybe directly from the D6i?
It's a bit complicating to first import to MacDive the sync to DiveLog on my iPad and Dive Log Manager om my Mac. I rather buy Dive Log Manager DT to sync with.
Best regards,
Mikael Klingbjer
Suunto import
Re: Suunto import
Hello Mikael,
As a matter of fact, I was just working on this. Unfortunately, I ran into a bit of a snag. I was going to add import support for the XML files that Suunto DM4 will export on the Mac, but the profile data (depth, temperature, pressure) appears to be encoded differently than on the PC. So I need to spend some time figuring out how to decode it. I've temporarily moved off to something else, but I will come back to this. (For some reason, the PC version of Suunto DM4 doesn't export to XML, just to SDE .... go figure!)
I'd also like to add support for importing from the Suunto database directly, as time allows. But the profile data is encoded the same way so no joy there yet either. Once the magic is unlocked, it will be quick to add.
And eventually, direct Suunto import but that's a whole different story
Let me know if you have any questions,
Cheers,
Janice

Re: Suunto import
The next release of Dive Log Manager and Dive Log DT has support for importing from Suunto DM4 (version 1.1.6). You can import the XML files that it generates, or you can import from it's database directly.
You'll need one of:
Our website Dive Log Manager - version 2.3.2
Mac App Store Dive Log Manager - version 3.3.2
Mac App Store Dive Log DT - version 4.3.2
Please let us know of any issues or questions you have about the Suunto import!!
Tanks,
Janice

Re: Suunto import
Was using Dive Log Manger (from your website) $25. Continues to crash when importing from Suunto DM4 (database).
Bought Dive Log DT $25 from App store. It crashes continuously as well.
A little help please.I'm out $50 and nothing works.
Thank you
Kent

Re: Suunto import
Kent (and anyone else),
The fix for the Suunto database Import is in the next release 2.3.3. Drop us an email and we'll send you a copy.
If you are running the Mac App Store version, Dive Log DT, we're working with Apple on getting another non-Sanboxed version of the application released. Standby. I would be happy to send any Dive Log DT customers a non-app store version if they desire. Contact us via email for details.
Sorry for the problems - we were not able to test the full range of Suunto computers apparently. Thanks for your understanding.

Re: Suunto import
OK folks - Apple approved the next release of Dive Log DT and so we also released the next version of Dive Log Manager on our website. This bug is now fixed in:
Dive Log DT - version 4.3.3.
Dive Log Manager (Mac App Store) - version 3.3.3
Dive Log Manager (MMS Website) - version 2.3.3.2
Thanks for your patience!

Re: Suunto import
Recently Suunto updated its software for OSX/Mac.
That update has unfortunately broken the syncronization between Dive Love and Suunto.
The "Database" button shows dives only until the point of the Suunto update, and there is no other way to import data.
Is a Dive Log update planned soon that will fix this?

Re: Suunto import
Yes, I found out about the new version of the Suunto software around the same time as we were releasing ours. I managed to get the fix into Dive Log DT (version 4.3.3) and into Dive Log Manager (version 2.3.3.2) that is on our website. But the free version of Dive Log Manager in the Mac App Store had already been reviewed by Apple at the time and so I was too late. I'll be submitting a bug fix for it very soon but of course it will take awhile for the process to complete.
In the mean time, if you're using the free Mac App Store version, you could download the website version to get the fix.

One thing you'll probably want to do though is install this version of the application in a different place than your Applications folder so that you don't "over write" the Mac App Store version of the app. I'm not positive, but I think this would interfere with future App Store updates. So you might want to just create another folder inside your Applications folder and put the website version above in it instead.
The fix actually looks for the latest version of the Suunto database file (as best it can right now) so it should continue to work even if Suunto does another update. In the future, we'll probably have to have a way to let the user pick the file themselves just to be safe.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
