Importing DL dives from Windows to mac

Post by cmejlbo »

I have tried to import all my dive from my Windows pc to my new Mac, but I keep getting problems with my dive buddies, the come up as "null", I cant delete, edit them or add new.
I would it imagine that it should work since its Dive log 5.0 on my windows and Dive log DT on my mac, I do see that they are using different format of database.

Looking forward to get a solution.

Hello cmejibo,

Dive Log Manager/Dive Log DT uses the recommended by Apple "Address Book" format to store information about Buddies. Because of this, you must grant Dive Log Manager/Dive Log DT access to your Contacts (Address Book), even if the applications don't access your Contacts. You can look at our FAQ here (http://www.moremobilesoftware.com/FAQ.html#G6) for instructions on how to grant DLM access to your Contacts. You were likely asked (but not necessarily) when the application was installed, but you answered no.

Just to be clear though - Dive Log Manager/Dive Log DT does not actually access your Contacts. Unless you click the button asking it to lookup the Buddy or Shop name in your Contacts so it can populate the fields.

Dive Log 5.0 and Dive Log DT actually do use the same "format" for their databases. Just a different underlying technology to store it.

Let us know if you have any further questions or difficulties.
Cheers,
Janice
