Would like to do this download already on the boat / holiday then and then drop my paper log completely.

import to IPAD
Re: import to IPAD
Hello Mr.T,
Unfortunately, this isn't possible.
There is no builtin IrDA on your iPhone or iPad. There are external gadgets that you can attach to your phone that allow it to be a remote control, but most of those allow *sending* IrDA only and not many have an ability to read/receive the IrDA information. Although it might be possible to find an accessory that did both, there is not much future in IrDA based dive computers and the existing ones from ScubaPro are being replaced by newer models without it. IrDA is an old technology and no dive computer manufacturers are investing anything in it anymore.
But you can still get rid of your paper log if you want to. Just log your dives using your iOS device on the boat. Then, if you take your laptop with you on the trip, you can download the dive computer into what you already logged later. If you don't take your Mac with you, just do it when you get home.
Let us know if you have any further questions.
Cheers,
Janice
