WiFi Sync Ipad and PC-divelog 6.02
WiFi Sync Ipad and PC-divelog 6.02
I have an IPad and am trying to syn via Bluetooth to my PC. I get the connection and it starts to communicate the dive info then it gets stuck on converting in Divelog 6.02
Re: WiFi Sync Ipad and PC-divelog 6.02
ENDED UP FINDING MY ANSWER ON DIVELOG FORUM. YOU HAVE TO DISABLE AVAST ANTI VIRUS FOR IT TO WORK PROPERLY.
Re: WiFi Sync Ipad and PC-divelog 6.02
Thank you for posting back the solution to your question that you found on the Diving Log forums.
Avast! anti-virus has a bug in one of it's modules that blocks traffic from Diving Log (both 5.x and 6.x) that is going onto the network. The developer of Diving Log has contacted Avast! multiple times to correct the issue but they have not yet taken action. If you want to keep using Avast!, you can disable just the affected module if you'd like. You can take these steps:
1) Open Avast!
2) Click on “Settings”
3) Click on “Active Protection”
4) Click on the “On/Off” switch next to “Web Shield”
5) Choose the appropriate item from the menu that appears (Stop for 10 minutes, Stop permanently, etc.)
This will turn off just the "Web Shield" module in Avast! and will allow Diving Log 6.0 to communicate with the network (and as a result, Dive Log on iPad).
There are a number of other Anti-Virus solution available that do not have any issues and many users choose to move to a different product to avoid problems with Avast!.
Again, thanks for helping the Dive Log community know about this issue.
Cheers,
Greg
