Dive Log Manager and MacDive
Now that MacDive is capable of syncing to iPhone, will you be adding the ability to download from dive computer to Dive Log Manager, or has DLM just become unnecessary? Personally I love Dive Log and Dive Log Manager and it would be great to not need MacDive. Either way, Dive Log is awesome.
Re: Dive Log Manager and MacDive
Hi,
Thanks for the kind words about Dive Log and Dive Log Manager, we are glad that you find them useful.
MacDive's new sync capability with Dive Log provides a great new way to integrate your dive log between your iPhone/iPad and your Mac. However, there is still a role for Dive Log Manager and it is continuing to receive active development. Synchronizing Dive Log with MacDive vs Dive Log Manager will provide different results since MacDive and Dive Log/Dive Log Manager use different underlying data representations (for example there are a number of fields in Dive Log that are not currently supported by MacDive that will not be maintained after a sync). Depending on how you use MacDive and Dive Log you may prefer to use MacDive sync directly or continue to use Dive Log Manager in conjunction with MacDive. We are grateful to the developer of MacDive for providing this excellent option and will continue to leverage MacDive and Dive Log Manager to provide the widest set of features to Dive Log users. We are working on adding support for a number of features including computer integration, but will initially focus on dive computers that are not yet well supported on the Mac by other options (Scubapro/Uwatec for example).
Thanks for your continued support.
Cheers,
Greg
