Feature request- Dive bag
I just got an Aqualung i770r dive computer. I was looking at the app they push with it. I am defiantly sticking with Dive Log but a feature the other app had was called gear bag. You could pick dive gear already entered and place it in the bag and have different ones for different types of diving. i.e. Caribbean bag and a lake bag for home use. Just an idea. Thanks for your amazing and easy to use Dive Log app!
Re: Feature request- Dive bag
Hi,
Thank you for the suggestion. We have heard similar suggestions in the past and are looking at ways to incorporate a similar feature into Dive Log. We always appreciate hearing from users about what is important to them as it does help inform our priorities for ongoing development.
Dive Log does have a feature that might help you avoid having to re-enter equipment data for each dive. Dive Log supports a concept of a "Template Dive" that can be used to pre-fill information from a previous dive (including Equipment items and tanks from that dive). Template dives can be used when enter a dive manually (when you tap the "+" on the Dives tab you can specify the last dive as a template or you can pick any previous dive) or when downloading your dive computer (before you import your dives tap the "Template" item and pick a dive to use as a template from your existing dives and all your imported dives will inherit much of the data from that template dive). The template dive feature is particularly useful when you are doing a series of dives in the same general area as it is typical that very little changes from dive to dive in terms of location (City/Country tend to be the same) as well as gear and general conditions however it can also be used to pick up details from a dive in the past that shared similar conditions. Once you have the new dive in your logbook you can just edit the few details that are different from the template.
Thanks again for your feedback and your support!
Cheers,
Greg
