Dive Log DT and Countries

Post by Clamsy »

Hello,

i can't generate Countries in my Dive-Log. I search the coordinates from the Dive-Places with google earth, i fill in the coordinates but i can't tell the Dive-Site that this Site is at the Maledives or Croatia or Italy and so on.

What will i do, that it work fine...

Sorry about my english, i'm German.

Thx a lot

Hello Clamsy,

We're sorry that we are not able to respond to you in German. I hope that I can answer the question you mean to ask.

It is only "Dive Site" that has GPS co-ordinates. Once you enter the latitude and longitude for the site, it uniquely identifies the site. The "City/Boat" and "Country" part of Locations are only there as additional categorizations for your Dive entry. So in the Dive panel you can say for a particular Dive that it took place at "X" Dive Site, "Y" City, "Z" Country. But you are not able to say that a Dive Site is in "Y" City or "Z" Country.

To add a new "City/Boat" or "Country" (or Dive Site) to your logbook, you can select an existing one and then the "Action" menu (little wheel) will have a "New XXXX" (Dive Site, City, Country) menu item. If the list is currently empty, you can click on the column heading itself to select the Dive Site, City/Boat, or Country/Region column and then the "Action" menu will show the "New XXXX" menu as well.

Once you have a dive entered and have listed what country it is in, you can then go to the Statistics panel, click "Countries" and it will show you all the Dives you have made in that Country.

I hope that this answers your questions. Please feel free to contact us again or repost if I have not answered the right question for you.

Cheers,
Janice
