Download date from Suunto Novo Vyper

Post by MitchellR »

I'm new to DiveLog and new to computer dive logs in general, so please forgive me. I recently purchased the DiveLog app for my iPhone and downloaded DiveLog manager (I have not yet purchased the full version because I want to ensure that I know how to use it first). I have a Suunto Vyper Novo dive computer and am trying to download my dives from my dive computer to DiveLog manager with the USB connection to my dive computer but don't know how to do it. I see that “Suunto” is listed under “IMPORT” on the left hand column of DiveLog manager, but when I click when connected to my dive computer I don’t see any of my dives. Is this because I have not purchased the full version? Or, do I need to first download a Suunto driver or app to download? Thanks for your assistance!

Hello MetchellR,

Yes you are correct about needing the "full" (aka paid) version of our macOS App in order to be able to Download a dive computer. The app in the Mac App Store is called DiveLogDT and if you purchase it, you will see a new section on the left hand side titled "DOWNLOAD" and under that will be another Suunto panel where you will be able to download your Suunto Vyper Novo using the USB/Serial cable.

The free version of our macOS App called DiveLogManager is used variously for backing up your logbook from our iOS App Dive Log, and can be used for a "read only" view of of the logbook, or to IMPORT dives from other logbook formats such as Suuto's DM4/5 software, and syncing the logbook back to your iOS device.

Let us know if you have any further questions,
Janice
