Initial Setup Mac Lion
I have downloaded Dive Log Manager and use MacDive 2. I would like to sync it to my iPhone where I have Dive Log installed. When I try to Open Existing Logbook from Dive Log Manager I am unable to find the appropriate file. I have searched throughout my system Library file where I do find MacDive files but they are grayed out. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi SoCalKeith!
Sorry it took us a while to respond. Something, yet again, seems to be wrong with the forum notifications and I didn't see your request until I was doing some spam maintenance!
So the way this will work is you will create a Dive Log Manager(DLM)/Dive Log(DL) type logbook first. You can save it any where, but a good place might be "Documents/Logbooks". So under the File menu of DLM you can select "New" and then save eg: SoCalKeith.sql in that folder. From now on, DLM will automatically open that logbook file each time it is started up and this will be your "current logbook", but you can have as many logbook files as you want. Backup's will also be created in the same folder. When syncing to Dive Log, it will sync your "current logbook" or essentially whichever one you have open at the time. On DL, your "current logbook" will be replaced with what is sent to it by DLM.
MacDive stores it's information in a "known" but somewhat hidden place as you only ever have "one" MacDive logbook. As soon as DLM has a current logbook, you can select "MacDive 2.0" in the source list on the left and DLM will automatically load each of your MacDive entered dives into the top half of the window. Then you just select which of those dives you want to import into your existing DLM logbook. You can select just one, or use the Apple key to select many or Apple-A to select all. In the bottom window, you indicate where in your current logbook you want to import these into. If you select a new dive number, they will be added. If you select an existing dive number, the information will be merged into what you already have entered. If something doesn't work the way you expect, then you can simply re-import on top of what is there, or restore to a backup, or create a new logbook file. If you select the "Import" item in the source list, you will find instructions and help on how to import from the various formats.
Once you "Enable Sync" using Dive Log, you will see your iOS device show up in the source list to the left. Then you just select it and choose one of the sync'ing option buttons. If you select the "Synchronization" item in the source list, you will find instructions and help on sync'ing with your iOS device.
Hope that get's you started and if you have any further questions, you can email us or post again in the forums. We'll pay better attention!
Cheers,
Janice
