Two way syncing?

Post by hellsbells »

Hi there

I've just downloaded Dive Log for my iPhone and was disappointed to see that i can only upload dives from MacDive 2 to the iPhone.

What I'd really like to be able to do, is upload form the iPhone into MacDive2 and then merge with any dives already uploaded form my dive computer. That way I can add GPs info etc at the dive site into my phone, and merge the two sets of data files when I get home.

Do you know when this functionality will be available?

Thanks guys!

Hello Hells Bells,

Sorry for your frustration. We have been working with the developer of Mac Dive on adding this functionality and it should be there "soon", but it is not there as of yet. You might want to ask the same question on the forums at http://www.mac-dive.com/

In the mean time, we have a free desktop application called Dive Log Manager which you can download from our website. This will allow you to import your Mac Dive logbook information and computer profiles and merge (or add) the entries with what you have entered on the iPhone. You would sync your iPhone log to the desktop, import from Mac Dive, and then sync back to the phone. We have a new 2.0 version of Dive Log Manager available in Beta form and the "final" one should be out "real soon" as well.

You can find out more about it here:
http://www.moremobilesoftware.com/Dive_ ... _Beta.html

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions,
Cheers,
Janice

Thanks Janice, good to know it's being worked on and I'll post in the Mac dive forums too.

I have downloaded Dive Log Manager, and merged some dives, bug what I'd like is to be able to export those dives back to Macdive2. If the export file from Dive Log Manager was XML or udlp format instead of SQL for instance, it would make it easier :-)

In the meantime, thanks for the program.
