Hello like others here, thank you for great software.
INDIVIDUAL SETTINGS
Under settings, I have everything set as METRIC, however my dive weights I use imperial (lbs).
Is there any way I can specifically set IMPERIAL for weights, but METRIC for everything else?
Currently I put in my dive weight in pounds but it then coverts them to Kg. Rather it stayed as lbs.
SPLITTING A DIVE
I know how to append a dive (with following dive) so it creates a single dive, however I do training and specific function dives, so there are times when my computer uploads several dives as one (due to very short interval).
How can I split a dive into two dives?
Appreciate your assistance

Feature Request - use Metric & Imperial - Split a dive
Re: Feature Request - use Metric & Imperial - Split a dive
Hi,
There is no way to set the display units individually for various fields. Dive Log actually stores all data internally in metric and the values are converted at display time (or entry time) to/from imperial values. You can always change the global setting to see what the value would be in lbs or you can edit the field and change the entry type to lbs (this will show the current value in lbs on the picker). Obviously neither approach really addresses your desire to see lbs shown by default. Obviously this is something that we could add (we'd probably have to adjust other data types as well because the next user will want pressure in PSI but everything else in metric) but it would be a pretty sweeping change as almost every screen in Dive Log is dealing with unit conversions. We'll add it to our list of future considerations for updates, but it will likely be behind some other higher priority updates.
I don't have much good news for you on splitting dives either as this is not a feature we currently support in Dive Log. Since you can merge (append) dives, if you happen to have a dive computer that allows you to set the minimum surface interval to consider a new dive (e.g. Shearwater) you could set that value low and then append dives that should be a single dive. Of course, the chances this captures all possible dives in the right place is unlikely.
If you have access to Diving Log 6.0 (www.divinglog.de) for Windows you can use that to split dives. Diving Log 6.0 and Dive Log on iOS are compatible and you can synchronize logbooks between the two platforms.
We'll take a look at adding this feature to Dive Log in a future update (again, no promises on how quickly we might get this done).
Thank you for the suggestions. We do always appreciate knowing how Dive Log might be more useful for users as we have limited development resources available and feedback really helps prioritize those resources.
Cheers,
Greg

Re: Feature Request - use Metric & Imperial - Split a dive
Hi Greg
Very much appreciate your reply and detailed response. Understand completely (as I dabble in simple programming).
My workaround for weight is putting a comment in ‘comment section’ with example “dive weight - 4x 3lbs”, and it’s always there and all my other data is in metric so works well. No issues and easy.
In regards to dive splitting, I have reduced surface interval time on my dive computer so a new dive starts shortly after surfacing and does seem to work well (most times). Out of 100s of these types dives, it only missed 3 hence the question of how to split, but it’s hardly an issue at all. I will try the window method, but I’ll have to borrow wife’s laptop as I use MacBook.
Thank you for your efforts and an awesome dive log!
